Beanie Feldstein, Emma Corrin, Thuso Mbedu and Julia Garner Each Earn Solo Covers for W Magazine’s Pop Issue

It has been over a year since W Magazine gave us a buzzworthy cover. It’s starting to feel as though the magazine’s glory days are over. Despite the challenges of the pandemic and new ownership, Sara Moonves continues to fight for the publication’s survival. It’s still able to secure big-name celebrities for its covers, though. Now an issue dedicated to pop comes our way with four collectible covers. Beanie Feldstein appears on cover one photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, cover two features Emma Corrin by Tim Walker, Thuso Mbedu takes to cover three captured by Campbell Addy while the fourth goes to Julia Garner snapped by Renell Medrano.

The covers received mixed feedback on our forums. “Can’t go wrong with a classic Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin portrait…” commented aracic.

“Beanie Feldstein’s cover is the only true standout here because a flawless black and white portrait from Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin is always a good idea and an instant classic,” echoed vogue28.

Melancholybaby agreed: “I like Beanie’s cover, it has a certain charm and warmth to it and the layout resembles W‘s glory days.”

“Even Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin can’t save this abysmal magazine,” disagreed MON.

“I really like Beanie and this is a beautiful photo of her, but I’m not sure I like it as a cover,” noted KINGofVERSAILLES.

“Emma Corrin is perfect for this kind of shoot, the other covers are so boring,” Ivanity86 chimed in.

YohjiAddict is a fan of Emma’s cover, too. “I think Emma Corrin gave her all and she works as a Tim Walker character, a mischievous and tomboyish one.”

“Tim Walker without a budget is no longer Tim Walker,” said GivenchyAddict.
