Day three of Paris Fashion Week and Chemena Kamali just made her highly-anticipated debut as creative director of Chloé and theFashionSpot’s verdict is in. Ever since Kamali was announced as Gabriela Hearst’s replacement at the famed French fashion house back in October 2023, the suspense and anticipation has been mounting. A teaser campaign was revealed earlier this month featuring a handful of Chloé muses both past and present, and Kamali’s vision was finally unveiled to its full momentum during today’s show. Strongly influenced by the Karl Lagerfeld era during the 70s, Kamali presented an array of soft, feminine and romantic silhouettes. From an instantly-covetable logo belt to desirable thigh-high boots – Chemena revived Chloé with an effortless ease.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Looooove it! It has the Chloé energy from the early 2000! Very well made, the three last dresses are sooo beautiful. Easy, uncomplicated, unpretentious, cool, and the colors are nice – we needed that! Bravo Chemena! Chloé is BACK!” [Creative]

“Amazing debut ! Chloé is back. Last time it was interesting was when Natasha took the helm. Minus the bags, I enjoyed everything! Well Done!” [GivenchyAddict]

“Wonderful debut! It was a really emotional moment because it was a much-needed comeback of everything Chloé actually stands for. Especially the flou, something Hearst didn’t understand well, was strong and convincing. Some of the pieces were a bit questionable but as a whole, this collection is fantastic and will sell like crazy! Thank God we’ve all survived Hearst’s dreadful tenure, because this one is going to be good. Bravo Chemena!” [perhydrol]

“So gentle and romantic. After Hearst’s overly serious tenure, I’m so grateful for the return of flou and soft colors. Very strong debut and a potential redemption arc for Chloé!” [LadyJunon]

“I am sipping a flute of champagne right now because I am so happy! Great to have you back Chloé – it’s been a while. I missed you. So so many great pieces I want to wear right now. I loved the attitude, the style, everything.” [VERNIQUE]

“Such an awesome debut. Go Girl! Give us the spirit of Chloé back!” [FashionFanatico]

“I’m sat here just as impressed as everyone else – Chemena Kamali delivered and I’m so proud. This whole collection just feels like it’s right on the money to propel Chloé back where it belongs, and everything has been executed wonderfully (including the guest sat front row like Sienna Miller, Jerry Hall and Pat Cleveland). Soft, feminine, romantic, wearable… the list goes on!” [vogue28]

Everyone loves a flashback, right? Here at theFashionSpot, ahead of us descending upon each fashion capital, we’ve been flashing it back a whole decade to the Fall 2014 season of New York, London, Milan and now Paris Fashion Week.

Just like in the other cities, the fashion landscape was a whole lot different within the French capital. Raf Simons was the creative force behind Christian Dior, Hedi Slimane was heading up Saint Laurent, Riccardo Tisci was still proving every inch his worth at Givenchy and Alexander Wang presented his third mainline collection for Balenciaga while the much-loved Phoebe Philo was still winning us over at Celine.

John Galliano’s eponymous label was a fixture on the PFW schedule (designed by Bill Gaytten), as was Haider Ackermann whose collection showcased the strength of the Colombian-born French designer’s innate design talent and impeccable skill. Anthony Vaccarello’s very own namesake creations were on full display too. The Fall 2014 season also bestowed upon us the late Karl Lagerfeld’s unforgettable supermarket spectacle at Chanel and Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen collection felt like a magical and mythological fairytale was coming to life before our very eyes.

Chemena Kamali clearly means business as Chloé’s newly-instated creative director. A refreshed and updated logo has been since been unveiled to cement the French fashion house’s new era. To further declare a new beginning, portraits have been released to usher in Kamali’s vision for the house, once led by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Phoebe Philo.

The accomplished German designer enlisted David Sims for her first campaign, and welcomes women who embody both the history and spirit of Chloé. As a result, Jessica Miller, Ornella Umutoni, Natalia Vodianova, Fei Fei Sun, Jerry Hall, Liya Kebede and Kristine Lindseth pose throughout the series of images, which genuinely feel like a breath of fresh air. The women assembled in Paris for the occasion and pose for Sims on location within the French capital, precisely where the brand was founded back in 1953 by Gaby Aghion.

“Lovely to see Jessica!” championed thaigo the moment the campaign became to trickle out.

“Such a joy to see Jessica in a Chloé campaign again after 20 years,” mikel chimed in.

“It’s fabulous. I have high hopes for Chemena’s Chloé,” voiced forum member Scotty.

Sharing the same level of enthusiasm was signifier, commenting: “Evokes previous Chloé campaign DNA but feels quite modern. Soft on camera flash. I like it!”

Vogue28 approved too, adding: “Impressed by all the portraits thus far. I can only echo everyone else’s sentiments on just how nice it is to see Jessica Miller. Very much like Natalia Vodianova’s campaign image too, and real eager to see Jerry Hall.”

After a marathon of shows and lookbook releases, fashion month is now over. Paris Fashion Week Fall 2022 was truly something to behold. It’s all thanks to the designers demonstrating more creativity and resilience than ever before.

First up was Off-White where the in-house design team and superstar cast payed tribute to Virgil Abloh. Maria Grazia Chiuri offered up perhaps her most experimental collection for Christian Dior yet. At Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello layered dresses with strong-shouldered faux fur coats and killer heels. Olivier Rousteing mixed some of Balmain‘s earliest codes with protective gear, while Gabriela Hearst gave us chic tailoring, hiking boots and recycled cashmere ponchos via Chloe. Jonathan Anderson stimulated our senses with leather, felt, latex, 3-D-printed fiber and sophisticated design motifs at Loewe’s spectacular show.

The hottest ticket in town was arguably Balenciaga where Demna Gvasalia dedicated the collection to fearlessness, resistance and victory of love and peace in solidarity with Ukraine. Valentino focused on neon pink. Moving from its usual location, Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton show was held at the magnificent Musée d’Orsay as all of his muses seated in the front row digested the mix of suiting, dresses and knitwear. The entire Chanel show centered around tweed as Virginie Viard found inspiration from England during the 60s. Barely-there miniskirts are here to stay, at least according to Miuccia Prada. She also gave us micro shorts at Miu Miu rounding out the week in style.

Paris Fashion Week Spring 2022That’s a wrap. Paris Fashion Week rounded out Fashion Month Spring 2022 after what has been a celebration of what the industry’s finest have to offer. It was a 60s revival at Christian Dior with models parading Maria Grazia Chiuri’s reinterpretation of Marc Bohan designs. Before the Eiffel Tower, Saint Laurent served up big shoulders, asymmetric cuts and sky-high stilettos. Olivier Rousteing celebrated 10 years at Balmain with help from Naomi Campbell and Carla Bruni. The fashion pack soon flocked to the banks of the Seine for Gabriela Hearst’s first physical show since taking over the helm of Chloe. Meanwhile at Loewe, Jonathan Anderson delivered his sexiest and most abstract collection to date. Demna Gvasalia surprised everyone with Balenciaga’s latest offering by collaborating with The Simpsons, which even included a cameo from Anna Wintour. Virginie Viard revived the spirit of the 90s at Chanel insisting models show joy as they sashayed down the catwalk. Miuccia Prada marked the return of the low-rise miniskirt at Miu Miu. Not even a climate protester was enough to distract from the drama of Louis Vuitton‘s latest collection. Closing out the week in style, 44 designers paid tribute to Alber Elbaz with a truly touching AZ Factory show. Here are all the hits and misses of Paris Fashion Week Spring 2022. Well at least according to our forum members.

That’s a wrap. The Paris Fashion Week Fall 2021 presentations are history. Even in the midst of a pandemic, designers clearly managed to pull out all the stops in the French capital.

Marine Serre kicked things off with a lookbook celebrating human connection. Gabriela Hearst focused on sustainability for her Chloe debut creating looks made from recycled and organic materials. Nicolas Di Felice also made his debut at Courrèges reinterpreting the French fashion house’s signature vinyl silhouettes. Meanwhile, Rick Owens gave us superhero-like capes and masks.

Over at Coperni guests watched the show from the comfort of their cars. Chanel’s models sported cold-weather essentials, like tweed coats and faux fur boots. Miuccia Prada transported us to the Alps to present her latest Miu Miu collection. While Nicolas Ghesquière closed out the week with a mythology-inspired collection for Louis Vuitton.

Here are all the hits and misses of Paris Fashion Week Fall 2021. At least according to our totally unfiltered forum members.

That’s it folks. Paris Fashion Week Spring 2021 has wrapped. Which means it’s obviously time to review all its highs and lows. All eyes were definitely on Christian Dior as Maria Grazia Chiuri got things going at the Jardin des Tuileries. Olivier Rousteing paid homage to Balmain‘s heritage with his collection. (Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian and others virtually sat in the front row.) Isabel Marant transported us to the 80s — again. Conversely, Matthew M. Williams unveiled his first collection as Givenchy’s creative director. While the clothes took center stage, the sets were something to behold. Virginie Viard erected a larger-than-life Chanel sign in the Grand Palais. And Nicolas Ghesquière absolutely went all out. How? By turning a former department store into a sci-fi space to flaunt Louis Vuitton’s latest offering. Click through the slideshow above for all the hits and misses of Paris Fashion Week Spring 2021. Vogue Brazil May 2020 : Gisele Bündchen by Luigi & Iango

Gisele Bündchen always delivers, especially when it comes to Vogue Brazil. The Brazilian bombshell is what Kate Moss is to British Vogue and Gisele finally makes a return to the publication’s front cover following a two-year hiatus. This month, the Brazilian fashion bible celebrates 45 years in print with a set of covers. As the perfect candidate to embody the magazine’s history, Gisele does what she does best, looking effortless and at ease wearing looks from Prada and Chloe (picked by Pedro Sales) before the lens of photographic duo Luigi & Iango for the two covers.

The covers immediately caught the attention of our forum members. “Beautiful. However, I feel like I’ve seen this photo of Gisele a million times by now. But just like Kate Moss, Gisele never gets boring,” said aracic.

“Same old, same old, but I don’t care. She always pulls it off,” echoed kokobombon.

Sharing the same sentiment was dodencebt: “I just can’t be mad at a supermodel being a supermodel, I don’t care how repetitive it can get.”

“We have seen this exactly 3 billion 457 million 232 thousand 349 times, but I am ready for more. I said it and I will say it again: 99 percent of the models now can be cancelled as we have Gisele, who shows every single time how to be an übermodel,” applauded dontbeadrag.

“I’m programmed to automatically love anything Gisele Bündchen and Luigi & Iango related so this is an instant hit for me. The two covers might not be the most captivating of Gisele’s career, but she really is the perfect person to help Vogue Brazil celebrate their 45th anniversary!” voiced vogue28.

Models are all the rage on the American fashion glossies this month. Anna Wintour gave Vogue‘s latest to a handful of the industry’s finest and now Marie Claire taps none other than firm forum favorite Gisele Bündchen for April 2020. Marking Aya Kanai‘s first issue at the helm, Gisele wears Chloe for the first cover and on the second cover (after the jump) dons Christian Dior picked by Joseph Errico as the supermodel poses before the lens of photographer Nino Muñoz on location in Miami.

One element in particular ruined things for our forum members. “I love her. This is beautiful, but I hate the new layout,” critiqued caioherrero.

“All I can see is that art direction that needs to be lifted immediately,” echoed MON.

Srdjan felt the same way: “I don’t like the change from their previous looks. When I saw the title, I was expecting something glamorous a la their previous covers with Emily Blunt and Elle Fanning, but this just feels like a reprint of Gisele’s editorial for American Vogue in July 2018.”

“Why does it feel like I’ve seen this before?” asked SLFC.

“Not her best cover, but not the worst, either,” confessed Benn98. “Really like the composition of the image and the fact that it’s not another close-up or studio shot.”

“Obviously, it’s a delight to see Gisele Bündchen on the cover of a mainstream American fashion magazine, will definitely make a mental note to purchase this one when it hits newsstands here, but echo everyone’s sentiments regarding the layout. I hate the new font that has been introduced and the layout does indeed need a whole lot of work,” agreed vogue28.

Fashion month is officially over. Paris Fashion Week just wrapped after the industry’s elite took in all the Fall 2020 season had to offer. So now it’s time to see which collections our unfiltered fashion critics loved and loathed from the French capital.

Which designers reigned supreme?

Dries Van Noten slayed (like always). Bruno Sialelli finally delivered a divine Lanvin collection complete with an all-star cast. Anthony Vaccarello delved into the Yves Saint Laurent archives for his sexy spin on the signature codes of the iconic fashion house. Clare Waight Keller went all “French grande dame” on us, while Olivier Rousteing’s latest Balmain offering is a vast improvement from previous seasons.

Which designers missed the mark?

Sadly, the list is long and not so distinguished. Christian Dior really needs to find a replacement for Maria Grazia Chiuri. John Galliano needs to stop trying to make goat-toe shoes happen. Demna Gvasalia basically gave us Vetements on a Balenciaga budget. Meanwhile, Katie Grand is single-handedly running Miu Miu into the ground. And Chanel stumbles once again sans Karl Lagerfeld.

Ready to see which shows received rave reviews and which were roasted by our forum members? (Some of their favorites may actually surprise you.) Click through the slideshow to discover all the hits and misses of Paris Fashion Week Fall 2020.
