British Vogue Manages to Make Angelina Jolie Look ‘Beyond Basic’ for March 2021

Angelina Jolie has become a rare sight down at newsstands. But leave it to Edward Enninful to put the spotlight back on the actress with the unveiling of British Vogue‘s latest. All 27 editions of Vogue are focusing on creativity for March and British Vogue marks the occasion with a set of covers starring the Oscar winner. Photographed by Craig McDean with Enninful on styling duties, the two covers show the humanitarian at home around the grounds of her stunning Los Angeles estate. For cover one (below), she sports a Burberry top, Max Mara trousers and Chanel ballet flats, while the second cover sees her taking a stroll wearing Max Mara, Sablyn and Ralph Lauren (after the jump).

British Vogue‘s latest covers ultimately failed to impress our forum members. “Have to say it’s really nice to see Angelina again, but good lord what a miserable cover…” proclaimed GERGIN.

“It’s so dreadfully dull, depressing and devoid of energy for a spring fashion issue,” vogue28 chimed in.

“This is Vanity Fair cover material at best and where is the promised creativity?” asked MagFan.

MON wasn’t impressed, either. “Yikes. Two horrible covers. Even The Hollywood Reporter does better covers than this.”

“I can’t believe this was shot by Craig McDean! It looks so utterly amateur and dare I say ugly. It’s the Angelina Jolie we’re talking about and you have this as your cover story? The second cover must be one of the most offensive covers Edward has ever produced during his tenure,” stated aracic.

“They’ve really managed to make her look so beyond basic here,” commented RedSmokeRise.

WAVES agreed: “Beyond pedestrian. You have Angelina Jolie and this is what you come up with?”
