]]>When it comes to iconic moves, Queen B always sets the bar high. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, best known for her mesmerizing performances, has now ventured into the realm of beauty.
From her days in Destiny’s Child to her chart-topping solo albums and acting chops, Beyoncé has continually wowed us with her ever-changing fashion and hairstyles. Whether rocking Afro curls, glamorous updos, or making a bold statement with the short hair chop in 2013, she has delivered unforgettable hair moments time and again. With such a legendary track record, it was only fitting for Beyoncé to dive into the beauty industry with her very own hair-care line, right? Enter Cécred! Pronounced as “sacred,” this brand is Beyoncé’s heartfelt tribute to her roots, symbolizing the essence of her journey and style.
Scroll further for all you need to know about Cécred:
The brand encapsulates the wisdom passed from generation to generation, from her mother, Ms Tina Knowles, and her grandmother, Agnéz Deréon.
“We started by prioritizing the needs of textured hair like mine, along with other types and textures that need more moisture and strength. My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, colored, weaves, wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health.” Beyoncé reflects on the inspiration behind Cécred.
Recalling her childhood days spent in her mother’s Houston salon, where she observed the art of mixing hair products with natural ingredients, Beyoncé’s interest in hair care blossomed. Teaming up with her longtime hairstylist, Neal Farinah, she meticulously crafted an 8-product line that blends traditional hair care practices with modern science. Beyoncé attributes her own healthy locks to these methods, which rescued her hair from the rigors of styling and bleaching over the years. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she writes, “Destiny’s Child got our start by performing for clients while they were getting their hair done,” underscoring the significance of her salon roots in shaping her career.
Without a doubt, Queen B’s commitment to perfection shines through in every aspect of Cécred. The lead global stylist of the brand attests to Beyoncé’s efforts in crafting these products, working hand in hand to bring her vision to life. Beyoncé’s dedication knows no bounds; she personally tests each ingredient and goes the extra mile to guarantee that every product delivers on its promises before it reaches consumers’ hands.
“As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy hair care and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else,” Beyoncé said in a statement.
The foundation collection of Cécred, meticulously put together by a team of seasoned experts, offers an array of eight essential products crafted through years of formulation expertise. From the indulgent Hydrating Shampoo to the invigorating Scalp Scrub and Clarifying Shampoo, each item is designed to cater to various hair needs. The suite also includes a Moisture Sealing Lotion, a sumptuous Deep Conditioner, and a rejuvenating Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual mask, alongside a nourishing Hair Oil. Encased in a tactile pebbled-texture case, the products exude an air of luxury. Infused with the signature hair fragrance, Temple Oud, renowned for its opulence and subtlety, the collection promises a sensorial experience like no other. The hair mask boasts a color-safe formula fortified with a groundbreaking patent-pending bioactive keratin ferment, derived from honey, keratin, and lactobacillus ferment, known to deeply penetrate and repair hair of all textures.
So, if you are seeking to cultivate a sacred hair ritual rooted in tradition yet embraced by modern science, Cécred’s foundation collection is the ideal choice. Endorsed by the incomparable Queen B herself, this collection embodies both heritage and innovation.
Starting at $20, the Cécred foundation collection is available for purchase on cecred.com. Furthermore, in collaboration with her philanthropic foundation, BeyGOOD, Cécred aims to support aspiring cosmetologists by offering scholarships and grants to salon businesses, adding a meaningful dimension to the launch.

]]>The post Beyoncé Covers British Vogue for July 2022 appeared first on theFashionSpot.
]]>Since landing at British Vogue, Edward Enninful has cemented himself as one of the greatest editors of our time. This year alone, the magazine’s front covers have featured everyone from Naomi Campbell to Lila Moss. Gisele Bündchen blew us away with pure glamour on last month’s cover. The publication’s latest cover conquest? None other than global sensation Beyoncé who returns to the British fashion bible for July 2022. Photographed by Rafael Pavarotti, the icon sits on a horse for the grand cover shot wearing a look from Alaïa’s Fall 2022 collection and a headpiece from a special collaboration between Harris Reed and milliner Vivienne H. Lake.
British Vogue‘s latest caused a great divide on our forums. “Tacky,” described WinstonH20 the moment the cover dropped.
“Not good. Beyoncé’s best Vogue cover is still her first American Vogue because it’s simple not this tacky,” echoed caioherrero.
“Wow, this is even tackier than Beyoncé herself,” MDNA chimed in.

Marc10 is also underwhelmed: “I’m not crazy about the styling, it’s way too early 2010s Lady Gaga. Beyoncé doesn’t really carry these heavy camp fashion looks because she doesn’t have a larger-than-life persona so the clothes end up wearing her.”
“My energy just depletes whenever I see Beyoncé. The Kendall Jenner of musicians on magazine covers, giving us nothing and overpowered immensely here by the theatrics of Rafael Pavarotti’s photography and Edward Enninful’s styling,” voiced vogue28.
But not everyone agreed. “The photograph has a strong Jean-Paul Goude vibe and is certainly one memorable cover,” raved aracic.
“I’m obsessed with how camp this is,” approved crmsnsnwflks.

]]>Despite our intense dislike of the new direction over at Harper’s Bazaar, there is zero denying the fact that the magazine has major pull when it comes to securing cover subjects. Over the last several months we’ve encountered Awkwafina, Megan Thee Stallion, Jane Fonda, Precious Lee, Megan Rapinoe along with Gigi Hadid. Now for the title’s biggest offering on the print calendar, it secures none other than Beyoncé for September 2021. On a selection of special covers, the global superstar poses before the lens of Campbell Addy with collaborative styling from Samira Nasr and Marni Senofonte. For the three covers, Beyoncé dons pieces from Adidas x Ivy Park, Valentino, Gucci as well as Tiffany & Co. jewelry (which she was just announced the face of alongside husband Jay-Z).
For our forum members, the outcome is a major disappointment. “Catastrophically bad. This looks so cheap,” said dfl-001.
“I wish magazines would give the high-fashion treatment to her…her magazine covers are so underwhelming,” THD96 chimed in.
“Beyoncé is a drop-dead beautiful woman yet her covers and editorials rarely manage to capture her beauty and energy. She posts better pictures on her Instagram,” stated an unimpressed Suhzie.

“I’m convinced Beyoncé’s U.S. Vogue April 2009 cover by Mario Testino will remain the best she’s ever looked on the pages of a fashion magazine because this is an embarrassment. Yet ANOTHER nonevent under Nasr,” voiced vogue28.
“Horrible. I have lost all faith in Samira Nasr. They should have called Carine Roitfeld to replace Glenda Bailey…” added kasper!.
“A big NO to all three,” proclaimed liv4beauty.
While Handbag Queen described the covers as “lackluster.”

]]>The 2021 Grammy Awards almost felt normal. The ceremony still followed strict pandemic protocols. But this time there was an actual red carpet. And most of the nominees attended and performed in person.
So it’s not surprising that there was lots of fashion to fawn over. Megan Thee Stallion stood out in an orange Dolce & Gabbana creation. Taylor Swift was in full bloom courtesy of Oscar de la Renta. Dua Lipa rocked a butterfly Atelier Versace dress. Noah Cyrus had a big haute couture moment decked out in Schiaparelli.
But it was Beyoncé who really turned heads in a black leather Schiaparelli ensemble. Those earrings made the look. She also made history by becoming the most awarded singer of all time.

]]>Our forum members have been busy speculating just who would front British Vogue’s December 2020 issue. Adele, Beyoncé and Kylie Minogue are just some of the names thrown about. Now it’s been revealed that Beyoncé is the mag’s star of choice to front its final offering of the year. Making a long-awaited return to the cover of the British fashion bible, the icon appears on a trio of covers all captured by 21-year-old Kennedi Carter (the mag’s youngest-ever cover photographer). Beyoncé wears Mugler, Adidas x Ivy Park and Alexander McQueen in the three cover images all styled by Edward Enninful.
The covers immediately became a topic of conversation on our forums. “I am truly sorry, but I have never thought of Beyoncé as a star with great fashion sense or fashion influence, but this is downright atrocious…” declared dontbeadrag the moment the covers dropped.
“Cheap, contrived, desperate,” Ed.. chimed in.

“To be completely honest, I’m disappointed with the execution of ALL three covers. Not the biggest Beyoncé fan, but think the photography is dreadful, the styling is an eyesore, the posing is laughable and there’s zero correlation between the covers. All just a total nonevent,” voiced vogue28.
“Three strikes…you’re out! This is embarrassingly bad,” disapproved dfl-001.
Armani was also less than impressed: “Oh no, what a disappointing batch of covers. As much as I will defend Beyoncé’s artistry, visuals and untouchable talent until the day I die…she just isn’t the strongest editorially, never has been.”
“These look like ads for an obscure strip club/brothel. Really Edward? Adidas on a Vogue cover…” added avonlea002.

]]>As a result of the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 CFDA Fashion Awards was put on hold. Set to take place today, this year’s celebration would’ve included the usual mix of fashion-minded folk. And they would’ve all been decked out in designer goods designed to make a statement.
Often taking a back seat to “bigger” fashion events like the Met Gala and the Oscars, the CFDA Fashion Awards is responsible for some of the industry’s most memorable red carpet moments. Who can forget Rihanna’s sparkly and sheer Adam Selman outfit? Gigi Hadid’s vivid Versace getup years later was also a standout. Then there was Ashley Olsen’s surprisingly colorful dress from the 2009 season. Basically, the awards show is always worth checking out.
Sadly, most of us weren’t privy to its early years since it wasn’t really heralded as something to watch until recently. So many missed out on some truly epic looks courtesy of Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Hurley, Renée Zellweger and others. But we’re about to rectify that.
In an effort to give it the respect it deserves, we’re looking back at the best looks from the CFDA Fashion Awards. Whether you enjoy 80s excess, 90s glamour or sleek styles from the early 2000s, you’ll find something to fawn over.
