It has been a never-ending guessing game over on theFashionSpot forums for months. Speculating, just as to who might crop up on the cover of Edward Enninful’s final issue of British Vogue. Since June 2023, upon the news of Enninful departing the British fashion bible after a rather remarkable 7-year stint, names like Beyoncé were thrown around with regards to his final cover star. Needless to say, we didn’t see this one coming…

Forgoing just the one cover star, Enninful called upon a whopping 40 of his chosenVogue icons for his concluding cover. As a result, Karen Elson, Irina Shayk, Laverne Cox, Anya Taylor-Joy, Serena Williams, Rina Sawayama, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Cindy Crawford, Amber Valletta, Precious Lee, Jodie Comer, Gemma Chan, Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Cata Delevingne, Jane Fonda, Gigi Hadid, Linda Evangelista, Adwoa Aboah, Miley Cyrus, Paloma Elsesser, Iman, Victoria Beckham, Ariana DeBose, Jameela Jamil, Oprah, Selma Hayek, Christy Turlington, Salma Blair, Maya Jama, Kate Moss, Cynthia Erivo, Simone Ashley, Lila Moss, Anok Yai, Kaia Gerber, Naomi Campbell and Dua Lipa grace the cover. The women flocked together in New York, and assemble for a group photograph before the lens of Steven Meisel.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Thank you, Edward. Thank you fashion gods! It’s a very interesting mix of cover subjects, some greats, some less than greats. Everyone looks fantastic, not a single woman looks unflattering here and that’s exactly what you want in a group cover, ” approved aracic.

LastNight was of the same mind, echoing: “I really like it! I think it’s quite striking and impressive to get all those people together.”

“I mean it’s a nice flex for him to have all these names on his last issue, but the composition is awful,” chimed in Marc10.

Thiago commented: “The Photoshop is terrible but that’s a proper farewell – Steven Meisel and legends!”

“It’s insane that they managed to actually get everyone there and still made it look like it’s a completely fake, Photoshopped group picture,” exclaimed lookatme.

“The cover isn’t groundbreaking enough, but you can’t make me hate it. Edward is such a mastermind, and I will surely miss his Vogue era,” shared forum member crmsn.

Caioherreo most definitely wasn’t all too impressed, describing the cover as “super boring” but do you agree?

Donna Karan New York is back, with a vengeance. The iconic American brand has since undergone a relaunch, having been acquired by G-III Apparel Group Ltd back 2016 from LVMH. A whole three decades have passed, since Donna Karan first unveiled the iconic “In Women We Trust”advertising campaign lensed by the late Peter Lindbergh and the slogan remains the brand’s mantra with the relaunch, for the Spring 2024 season. To commemorate the occasion, famed photographer Annie Leibovitz was called upon to lens a celebratory campaign starring eight supermodels who represent the label’s past, present and future. The faces of the campaign include legends Liya Kebede, Linda Evangelista, Carolyn Murphy, Cindy Crawford, Shalom Harlow, Amber Valletta, Karlie Kloss and Imaan Hammam, who each don an array of signature pieces from the newly-launched collection.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Reminds me of those supermodel shoots from Vanity Fair some years back,” admired Urban Stylin the second the campaign struck.

“I think this is a fantastic way for Donna Karan to make a return to fashion. Annie did a great job with the campaign, far better than she usually delivers these days. This is the supermodel nostalgia Vogue cover we should’ve gotten,” aracic heralded.

Also equally as impressed was thiago, commenting: “Loving the whole campaign! Fabulous casting.”

“What a pleasant surprise! Massively here for a Donna Karan relaunch and getting Annie Leibovitz and a cast of eight iconic models to kick-start such a moment is undoubtedly the way to do it. It’s just an added bonus that Leibovitz’s photography is so on-point here, and the ladies look phenomenal.” raved vogue28.

“They nailed the Donna Karan look. The absence of this brand was never really filled,” GivenchyHomme chimed in.

Vogue España July 2022 : Karlie Kloss by Lachlan Bailey

We’re always down for a summer vacation via our favorite fashion glossies. Vogue Spain is one title that understands the assignment loud and clear. Just last month the Spanish fashion bible whisked us away to Ibiza with Mica Argañaraz and now the publication gives us Karlie Kloss for July 2022. Captured by Lachlan Bailey with Clare Richardson on styling duties, the all-American beauty and current face of Louis Vuitton eyewear poses poolside decked out in a catsuit and heels from Saint Laurent’s Spring 2022 collection.

Despite being poached from British Vogue‘s July 2022 issue, the cover received praise from our forum members. “Great cover for July and I’m always happy to see Karlie,” approved KINGofVERSAILLES.

“Not mad in the slightest to see this story reprinted from British Vogue given the fact Lachlan Bailey is one of my absolute faves lately. Karlie Kloss is always a good idea and she looks sensational. I love her gaze here, the warmth of the lighting and that killer Saint Laurent jumpsuit!” raved vogue28.

“I will buy it. Karlie is an event. A reminder of why I buy magazines every month. Never mind that it’s a reprint, she’s worth it!” exclaimed ivano.

“Love it, at least it is a different photo than the one in British Vogue,” appreciated djowodjo30.

“I am so happy they have used this editorial,” proclaimed avonlea002.

“Good to see Karlie!” echoed FashionMuseDior.

Louis Vuitton probably holds the title of the fashion label with the most brand ambassadors. After all, Nicolas Ghesquière has Léa Seydoux, Emma Stone, Alicia Vikander, Naomi Osaka and HoYeon Jung on speed dial. The brand even recently welcomed Deepika Padukone as its first Indian brand ambassador. Millie Bobby Brown now makes her official debut as a friend of the French fashion house via its Spring 2022 eyewear campaign captured by Steven Meisel. The Stranger Things actress is joined by Karlie Kloss and Lous and the Yakuza in the ads that shine a spotlight on the brand’s Moon Cat Eye, Moon Square and Link Square frames.

Ultimately, the end result left members of our forums conflicted. “Cheap,” simply described avonlea002.

“Geez Millie looks like she’s at least in her 30s there,” noted Marc10.

“Millie Bobby Brown? How many ambassadors do they have at this point?” wondered HodanChloe.

[ Not a tFS forum member yet? Click here to join! ]

“The images themselves feel flat, lifeless and completely devoid of energy — not to mention the random casting. They should’ve just had Millie Bobby Brown on her own given it’s her debut as a brand ambassador, but it’s Lous and the Yakuza who steals the show here!” voiced vogue28.

“Only Lous and the Yakuza looks good,” echoed velvetandsilk.

“Why is it so conservatively ugly? Such a waste,” phungnam96 pointed out.

But not everyone shared the same sentiment. “It’s all very appropriate for an eyewear campaign, nothing groundbreaking, but it does the job well enough,” reasoned aracic.

“I love it, very Meisel and very classic Vuitton…” admired Gonzalo.

2022 Met Gala

After skipping 2020 and scaling back a bit in 2021, we expected the 2022 Met Gala to really bring the drama. Not to mention the fashion. Thankfully, we aren’t disappointed.

Continuing the theme of “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” there was plenty of gilded glamour. There were corsets, structured skirts and opera gloves galore. But there were several stars who either downright ignored the theme or tried to put a modern spin on it. For example, Janelle Monáe’s Ralph Lauren look was a futuristic interpretation.

We spotted a surprising amount of cut-out accents. We were also taken aback by the sheer volume of see-through sections. (See what we did there?) Kim Kardashian certainly turned heads decked out in Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Jean Louis dress.

Both Blake Lively and Sydney Sweeney did an outfit reveal on the red carpet. The former rocked two Atelier Versace creations that paid tribute to the Statue of Liberty. The latter transformed her Tory Burch gown into a minidress.

Suits were also popular. Cara Delevingne, Irina Shayk and Chloë Grace Moretz all stepped out in striking style. It was actually a welcome contrast to all the dynamic dresses.

It’s definitely worth your time to scroll down to see all the crazy, sexy and totally cool looks from the 2022 Met Gala.

WSJ. Magazine December 2021/January 2022 : Karlie Kloss by Ethan James GreenSometimes all we crave from our favorite fashion glossies is true glamour. (Perhaps a model thrown in for good measure.) We’ve been able to depend a great deal on WSJ. Magazine over the years since it caters to our every desire. Kim Kardashian, Amanda Gorman and Ashley Graham have kept us enthralled on the title’s front covers throughout 2021. Now Karlie Kloss is the publication’s digital cover star for December 2021/January 2022. The model completely captivates wearing a Celine trench, a hat from Eugenia Kim and a Salvatore Ferragamo scarf selected by Charlotte Collet for the shot snapped by Ethan James Green.

The end result gives our forum members a serious case of déjà vu. “If I hadn’t read the caption, I could SWEAR this Karlie cover was photographed by Steven Meisel!” said DK92. “Ethan really goes all the way out to be the next Meisel. It’s good. Karlie still has it,” commented THD96. “How are these not outtakes from Karlie’s Vogue Italia December 2011 cover or her British Vogue August 2019 story?” asked mikel.

“Poor man’s Meisel, but Karlie is just extraordinary. She totally serves it!” declared TaylorBinque. “An absolutely incredible cover… It reminds me of Natalia Vodianova on W by Steven Meisel. Great job from Ethan and Karlie!” approved aracic. MyNameIs is also very much a fan: “This is phenomenal. Beautiful, bold, elegant, dynamic and with plenty of personality.” “Karlie Kloss by Ethan James Green is of course, as said a million times already, emulating Steven Meisel, but you will hear zero complaining from me… Nothing but pure unapologetic glamour and fashion…” applauded vogue28. “I love the brows, they steal the show on the cover,” admired KINGofVERSAILLES. 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards

There were two dominant trends at the 2021 CFDA Fashion Awards. Bright pops of color and all-black looks. It was a pretty interesting contrast, actually.

Emily Blunt hit the red black carpet before her hosting duties decked out in an orange Christopher John Rogers suit. Fashion Icon honoree Zendaya rocked a red Vera Wang set. And Face of the Year Anya Taylor-Joy wowed in a purple Oscar de la Renta creation complemented by leopard gloves and a matching hat.

Actress/model HoYeon Jung attended in a draped Louis Vuitton black dress. Ciara hit the carpet in Tom Ford. While Cara Delevingne sported a tuxedo blazer.

2021 Met GalaWith a theme like “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” we weren’t sure what to expect when it came to the 2021 Met Gala. Unlike previous years when the dress code was more established, many attendees decided to go rogue. Sure, some went with patriotic options. Hence red and blue being popular choices. But a large percentage just dressed to impress, er, stand out. There were plenty of American designers on display. Jennifer Lopez served up some real 70s glamour in Ralph Lauren. Kate Hudson’s pink Michael Kors Collection ensemble also turned heads. And Amanda Gorman’s blue Vera Wang stunner was a striking nod to the Statue of Liberty. There was certainly a lot of skin. The naked dress was back in a big way with everyone from Kendall Jenner to Irina Shayk indulging in the trend. Others decided to flash flesh in far more strategic ways. We’re guessing you’re still getting used to writing 2020, but now there’s an easy way to remind yourself we’ve started a new decade. V Magazine just released its annual calendar and the cast is pretty stellar. Fashion’s finest — we’re talking Alek Wek, Karlie Kloss, Hailey Bieber, the Hadid sisters and more — help mark the months decked out in Guess in a series of black-and-white portraits. Shot by Zoey Grossman, only 1,000 copies of the calendar were made so quantities are limited.

You can snag your own copy by purchasing V Magazine‘s new year bundle, which includes the mag’s latest issue featuring Margot Robbie, for just $20.20 (get it?). Need more convincing? Check out the behind-the-scenes video below.

Glamour is always a good idea, especially right before the holiday season really gets going and Vogue Spain obviously heard our pleas for some high fashion loud and clear with the unveiling of its December 2019 installment starring Karlie Kloss. We’ve come to rely on Karlie a great deal over the years since she consistently dazzles on covers shot by various photographers and she delivers yet again before the lens of Txema Yeste. Styled by Juan Cebrian, the supermodel strikes a pose in Carolina Herrera for the vintage-inspired cover shot, helping the magazine close out 2019 on a high note.
