The new year doesn’t officially begin until the first award show. The People’s Choice Awards rang in the 2016 season last night in Los Angeles and although the red carpet had its fair share of stars, quite a few big names opted out of the award show opening ritual. Celebs pretty much marched to the beat of their own drum style-wise as there was a lack of consistency when it came to fashion. Seriously, the Bond beauties delivered at each stop on the tour, from Berlin to London. Even Daniel’s lovely wife Rachel Weisz got into the fashionable mix by wowing in an embroidered Alexander McQueen gown. But it wasn’t just the Bond cast that brought their A-game to the red carpet. Stars like Kate Hudson and Sandra Bullock put on stylish displays at an award show and a Los Angeles premiere, respectively. Appliqués were trending worldwide and scene-stealing details like glitzy embellishments, sheer sections and well-placed cut-outs also proved popular.

Yet amazingly so, not everyone acknowledged the evident airbrushing. “How glorious to see a 51-year-old woman on the cover, and not entirely airbrushed (there clearly is to some extent, but I feel it wasn’t overdone like Harper’s Bazaar did to SJP), it’s a very nice cover. Glamour has been great lately,” approved Miss Dalloway.

“It’s always nice to see Sandra and her hair looks stunning. I’m looking forward to her feature,” anticipated Benn98.
