Make no mistake that Lily-Rose Depp is a Chanel brand ambassador and the ink was barely dry on the dotted line before the daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp was appearing before the lens of the late Karl Lagerfeld in the French fashion house’s Fall 2015 eyewear campaign. Eight years and multiple campaigns later, the French-American actress is handpicked by Chanel’s creative director Virginie Viard to be the face of the Coco Neige collection for 2023. Shot by Mikael Jansson, Lily takes to the ice rink throughout the series of campaign images and bundles up in Viard’s latest drop which makes us want the hit the slopes – and the rink.
The end result, however, left a whole lot to be desired in the eyes of our forum members. “Chanel for H&M at best,” laughed an underwhelmed DK92.
“I thought Gucci travel [with Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny] was bad!” Urban Stylin shrieked.
“LOL, isn’t Margot Robbie an ambassador? She would’ve been the best person for this I, Tonya non-sense,” mentioned thiago.
Lola701 wasn’t feeling the end result either, commenting: “It seems like Karl’s first and only Coco Neige campaign [with Margot Robbie] will be the best ever for this line. And there wasn’t even any snow in that campaign. This Lily-Rose campaign is a mess.”
“Admittedly, this isn’t my most favorite of times I’ve seen Lily-Rose Depp as the face of Chanel but I do love that photograph of Lily on the ice rink, in the navy jumpsuit. The rest of the campaign is awful, looks like something you’d see coming out of Nylon. Not impressed… for a brand like Chanel,” echoed vogue28.
