After such a spectacular and dreamy Chanel-filled wedding set in the South of France back in April (and cementing herself as the embodiment of the viral ‘quiet luxury’ trend in the process), we did think it would only take a small amount of time before Sofia Richie graced the cover of a major fashion publication. True to form, Town & Country make Sofia Richie Grainge their September cover star for 2023, who is the picture of ladylike elegance in monochromatic Chanel (obvi) for the glam cover shot, captured on location in a sun-drenched Santa Monica, California by photographer Rebekah Campbell.

Ultimately, the cover garnered mixed feedback on our forums. “Death to centered text and not sure about the Pretty Woman quote,” voiced Lucien112.
“Layout is throwing me off, but I like Sofia for Town & Country,” approved KINGofVERSAILLES.

Sofia Richie Is Launching a Low-Priced Fashion Line

Sofia Richie has modeled for big brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Chanel, but now she’s stepping off the runway to go behind the scenes and create her own fashion line.

“I finally feel like I’m at the point in my life where I have so many creative ideas that I want to share and I’m bottled up,” Richie said. “Over the years, buying so many clothes and seeing what I liked and didn’t like and being in the modeling industry, I was around so many designers and I always took notes and tips from them. It came easily and I knew all the little things I wanted and didn’t want.”

To bring her Sofia Stone line to life, she’ll be working with LA Collective. The company is no stranger to celebrity fashion lines since it has previously partnered with Morgan Stewart, Khloé Kardashian, Olivia Culpo and Nicky Hilton.

As Richie’s followers are mostly millennials and Gen Zers, the designs will have a glamorous athleisure vibe with pieces priced at under $80. Sofia Stone is set to launch this summer on August 30. It’ll drop new collections every season with the next collection expected to roll out in November.

The final weeks of August are upon us. Anxious to soak in all the summer we can, loath to turn our minds to fall and the flurry of activity (within and without the fashion industry) that it brings, we — and all our celebrity Insta stalks — have vacated the premises. (“The premises” being anywhere that’s not a tropical isle or at the very least a beach or pool.)

And you know what that means — it’s bikini plandid time! (True, it’s important to relax and unplug. It’s also important to stock up on potential Instagram #content while the lighting and backdrop are good.) For those of you wondering what the heck a plandid is, it’s the selfie of 2017. A new form of Instagram portraiture. A term brought to the mainstream by Man Repeller writer Amelia Diamond (or, more specifically, her friend Trent). Here’s the formal definition:

“A plandid is a planned candid. An oxymoronic portmanteau brought to my attention by my friend Trent (turns out it’s been on Urban Dictionary since 2010), the term has come to mean, more than anything, a carefully calculated solo shot that appears to have been taken by a professional photographer, posted without a hint of shame or irony, and for no apparent reason other than, Why not?”

Needless to say, celebrities are masters in the art of plandid taking — especially the bikini-clad variety. Emily Ratajkowski and Ashley Graham could easily teach a course on posing, framing and technique (self-timer setting, etc.). But they’re busy.

Sheer Dresses and Feathered Accents Reign Supreme at the 2017 amfAR Gala Cannes

We’re not exactly sure how it happened, but somehow the amfAR galas have become associated with sheer gowns as opposed to the charitable cause that drives them. That was definitely the case at this year’s Cannes gathering with a bevy of models seemingly trying to one-up each other in the see-through department. In addition to peekaboo elements, many stars flocked to feathers in all shades of the rainbow. Quite a few attendees opted for dark, almost gothic gowns and there were even a few who made a statement in striking pants ensembles. All the Best Looks From the 2017 Met Gala Red Carpet

We all knew the second that the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” theme was announced for this year’s Met Gala, we were in for some outlandish looks. (After all, if there’s one designer who deserves the OTT treatment, it’s Rei Kawakubo.) And certain attendees didn’t disappoint, delivering truly shocking ensembles. Leave it to Rihanna to give the biggest shout-out to Kawakubo by slipping on an elaborate structured floral piece by Comme des Garçons wrapped up with some extremely strappy red heels. Katy Perry turned heads in her veil-covered fiery custom Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano creation. Lily Aldridge also went for the veiled look, while a few daring souls topped off their ensembles with statement head or neck gear.

Even with all the lavish excess a gala like this demands, there were still some stars who played it safe. Though Elizabeth Banks, Diane Kruger and Lupita Nyong’o all looked lovely, we were really expecting a bigger fashion punch on this red carpet, especially since we were hoping that more stars would dare to rock Comme des Garçons’ wares. Nevertheless, there was a strong showing of grand gowns boasting everything from feathered trains to cascading ruffles. Red ruled the night, whether in full-on fashion or in concentrated pops serving as eye-catching accents. And, of course, what would a Met Gala be without a few see-through numbers?

All the Cutoffs, Crop Tops and Colored Hair Celebs Wore to Coachella

This year, Angels took over Indio. Sure, we often see quite a few Victoria’s Secret models on the grounds at Coachella (Alessandra Ambrosio, we’re looking at you), but this go-round the brand actually set up shop in the desert the first weekend to flaunt its Sexy Little Things line. So, lacy bralettes were pretty commonplace as were crop tops, cutoffs and all manner of floppy hats. Denim on denim was trending in flashback fashion, although we were quite surprised to see 90s fave shortalls making a strong comeback at the festival. Some were worn straight-on, while other attendees opted to go old school and sport one strap loose. Regardless, we’re predicting they’ll turn into a spring/summer staple this season. While the star power definitely dimmed during the festival’s second weekend, we still spotted a few celebs decked out in memorable fare, like straw hats and extremely short shorts. Coachella 2017 Weekend 1

Alessandra Ambrosio, Weekend 1, Day 1

Alessandra Ambrosio kicked off her weekend decked out in a long belted Rolling Stones tee, a draped white and black studded biker jacket, circular shades and black leather Giuseppe Zanotti combat boots.
