Vogue France March 2022 : Laetitia Casta by Carlijn Jacobs

Laetitia Casta Strikes a Pose on Vogue France’s Patriotic March 2022 Cover

Eugénie Trochu is now four issues deep into her tenure at Vogue France. As Emmanuelle Alt‘s successor, the magazine’s new head of editorial content has some pretty big shoes to fill. Mika Schneider, Lola Nicon and Malika Louback definitely deserved better than last month’s questionable cover. Now Laetitia Casta is back on the cover of the French fashion bible for March 2022 10 years after her last appearance. For the bold and patriotic cover, the French beauty wears a vivid blue jumpsuit from Saint Laurent’s Spring 2022 collection selected by Imruh Asha for the image captured by Carlijn Jacobs.

French Vogue‘s latest took our forum members by surprise. “Wow! That’s a stunning photo,” raved crmsnsnwflks the moment the cover dropped.

“This is an amazing cover. Laetitia looks stunning and the shapes are amazing. Iconic and timeless,” described newton91.

“I love it. Very memorable and impactful. Everything just works, the photo, the layout and of course Laetitia (can’t believe it’s been 10 years since her last cover),” commented THD96.

“A little bit in love with this to be completely honest. It’s very striking, patriotic and has that Jean-Paul Goude quality which I approve of. Plus, it feels like Emmanuelle Alt never left with Laetitia Casta back on the cover and the strong sense of retro glamour so there is of course that. Yes!” applauded vogue28.

But not everyone shared the same enthusiasm. “Vogue France is very pedestrian. The art direction is tragic,” voiced MON.

“At first glance it’s great, but the more I look at it the more strange it looks. Looks like they rotated the image, but it’s making her tilt look awkward,” BlueRuin pointed out.

“I adore Laetitia, but there’s something that I don’t like about this. The proportions maybe?” wondered marsnoop2.

“A desperate attempt to revive the old image of Vogue Paris,” said OllieJE.
