D la Repubblica continues to stomp on the competition and show just about every major fashion magazine on the planet how it’s done. We currently remain in the midst and the glory that is ‘The Fashion Issue’. Following on from Volume #1 which resulted in us here at theFashionSpot hyperventilating over 21 spectacular covers, Volume #2 is evidently no different. Emanuele Farneti dials down the number of covers, to give us a selection of three. Cover one sees Farneti call upon Paolo Roversi, who captures Penelope Ternes, Lina Zhang, Amar Akway and Yar Aguer. Colin Dodgson photographs Jesi Shelnutt for cover two while Ida Heiner serves retro glam on cover three, as she poses for photographer Theo Sion.

Emanuele Farneti continues to make big strides as the editor of D la Repubblica. Issue after issue, we here at theFashionSpot, are often left in a constant state of awe over both the magazine’s front covers and contents. Make no mistake, Volume #1 of D‘s fashion issue installment for 2024 is no different. Farneti went all-out for the occasion, enlisting a handful of top models from DNA Models as cover stars. A whopping 21 covers feature models Rianne van Rompaey, Saskia de Brauw, Malgosia Bela, Adwoa Aboah, Natalia Vodianova, Karen Elson, Raquel Zimmermann, Linda Evangelista, Julia Nobis, Doutzen Kroes, Carolyn Murphy, Guinevere van Seenus, Imaan Hammam, Emily Ratajkowski, Devyn Garcia, Kiki Willems, Lily Kebede, Deva Cassel, Anja Rubik, Edie Campbell and Mica Argañaraz. The girls pose within Robin Galiegue’s photographic studio, with Jacob K reporting for styling duties and the results are nothing short of spectacular.

Emanuele Farneti continues to far exceed expectations as editor of D la Repubblica, and regularly blows us away with his cutting-edge and fashion-forward covers for the weekly Italian fashion supplement. A whole plethora of perfection over recent weeks and months have included everyone from Kaia Kerber and Linda Evangelista to Hailey Beiber and Natasha Poly.

Farneti welcomes Mila van Eeten onto one of D la Repubblica’s latest offerings, with the runway sensation and current face of Swarovski posing for artist and photographer Nicola Delorme. In the stark and captivating cover shot, the Dutch beauty who first made her debut on the Atelier Versace runway during the Fall 2015 season, is styled by Flora Huddart in a wool top from Fendi, teamed with a rose gold necklace and earrings with onyx and diamonds from Cartier.

Emanuele Farneti may not have rocked our world doing the top job at Vogue Italia but the Italian editor is most definitely making huge and confident strides as director of D la Repubblica, where he has been stationed since early 2022. Covers of the weekly Italian publication over recent months have given us a whole plethora of modeling’s finest, including Kaia Gerber, Linda Evangelista, Ida Heiner, Diane Chiu, Raquel Zimmermann, Natalia Vodianova, Natasha Poly and Iris Law.
Joining the ranks with the unveiling of D‘s latest installment dated October 28, 2023 is Hailey Bieber. On the magazine cover front, the year 2023 has been pretty good to the all-American beauty, who has accumulated covers to mega fashion titles like Vogue Australia, The Sunday Times Style, Vogue Japan and V Magazine over the past eleven months – and the year isn’t over just yet.

Photographed by Oliver Hadlee Pearch and styled by Carlos Nazario, Hailey (who lives her life in the spotlight) is perhaps the perfect candidate to be cover star for an issue deciated to the theme of public and private, and strikes a pose at the heliport on the ‘public’ cover wearing a jersey bodysuit and leather slingbacks from Saint Laurent. For the second ‘private’ cover alternative, the Rhode founder seemingly goes makeup-free.
This most recent edition of D is a special collectors issue, boasting a larger size format, is two issues in one and consists of a whopping 450 pages.

After the release of such a delightful and utterly stunning Kaia Gerber cover, we had a hunch that D la Repubblica’s September issues were to be the gift that keeps on giving – and we were right! The Italian magazine will deliver us not one but a total of five celebratory fashion-filled issues this month and the second features none other than modeling royalty and firm forum fave Linda Evangelista. In the midst of the comebacks of ALL comebacks, the industry icon appears before the lens of Robin Galiegue and dressed by stylist Jacob K, sports a mashup of Valentino, Balmain and The Row as she dashes across the studio in the black and white cover image (below). For the second and equally as divine aternative cover (after the jump), Linda stares down Galiegue’s lens wearing Issey Miyke.

Needless to say, members of our forums were left in absolute awe. “The winner of all her covers this month! Dare I say it looks better than Meisel. Stunning work!” heralded Benn98.
“I’m crying! Stunning!” exclaimed versustito.

Perhaps we were a little hard on Emanuele Farneti when he was editor of Vogue Italia from 2017 until 2022. Not even covers with the likes of Amber Valletta, Anok Yai, Gigi Hadid, Claudia Schiffer or Madonna were enough to impress us during Farneti’s tenure. 
However, the Italian editor appears to be flourishing at the helm of Italian title D la Repubblica and the magazine’s first offering throughout September 2023 has became an instant hit. Farneti welcomes Kaia Gerber as one of the magazine’s cover stars to kick-start the first of five big fashion issues coming our way this month, who appears before the lens of photographer Alasdair McLellan. Dressed in a black glitzy Celine dress by stylist Suzanne Koller, the all-American beauty oozes retro glamour in the chic black and white cover photograph (below) while poses under warm sunshine on the second alternative cover (after the jump).
